We know you'll love our service and back it with a full 100% guarantee if you choose to cancel within 30 days of sign up. Binary Canary, LLC recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all of our users. Registering with Binary Canary and use of the system requires you to submit personal information. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that this information remains private and confidential.
We will not disclose, sell or give this information away to any party without your consent. Binary Canary does use cookies in order to provide the services. This allows us to recognize who you are, and provide access to your account. Through the use of our system, we will collect a large amount of data related to your website or services. We may use this data for statistical purposes without linking to your identity.
Analytics and cookies
This marketing website (www.binarycanary.com) uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, and which links, such as “Start free trial”, are clicked. Google Analytics uses cookies set in your browser for this purpose.
The information collected includes usage data (such as pages visited, time spent on pages, the referring website, and link clicks) and device data (such as browser type, operating system, screen size, and approximate location). Your IP address is processed by Google in order to provide the service. We use this information in aggregate, to understand and improve how the site is used; we do not use it to identify you.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings. Blocking these cookies does not affect your ability to use this website. For more about how Google uses this data, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Checklist emails and marketing consent
Our Website Outage Readiness Checklist is free to use on its page without giving us any information. If you ask us to email you a copy, we collect your email address and keep a record of the request: the checklist you asked for, the page you used, when our server received the request, whether you ticked the optional marketing box, and whether our emails to you were sent. We may also save your address as a contact in our customer-relationship system. We use this information to send the checklist, to keep a record of what you asked for and agreed to, and to respect your email choices. In some cases, such as when an address is on our suppression list, we don’t send a copy.
The marketing box is separate from the checklist, optional and never pre-ticked; asking for the checklist doesn’t sign you up for marketing emails. If you tick it, and you haven’t already confirmed or opted out, we email you a link. Opening the link changes nothing; you then choose “Yes, confirm” or “No thanks”. The link works once and expires after 72 hours. When we send it, we also keep the wording you agreed to, its version, and whether you confirm or decline. We won’t send you marketing emails because of this request unless you confirm, and the request doesn’t change email choices you’ve already made with us: if you previously unsubscribed, ticking the box doesn’t override that.
Any marketing email we send you will include an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to stop at any time by contacting us. When you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a suppression list for as long as we need it to honor that choice; this may also stop other emails from us to that address, including checklist copies.
We send these emails using Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES), an email delivery service provided by Amazon Web Services.
We keep these records for as long as we need them to show what you asked for and agreed to and to respect your choices; we don’t delete them on a fixed schedule. You can ask us for a copy of them, or ask us to delete them, by contacting us. We may keep your address on our suppression list where needed to honor a request to stop emailing you.
To limit abuse of the form, we count requests using a code derived from your connection’s IP address and a secret key, rather than the address itself; these counters aren’t linked to your email address. We don’t store your IP address or browser details with your request or in our customer-relationship system, although our hosting providers may process IP addresses to deliver the website.
